Increasing incidence of Mesothelioma
In recent years the incidence of mesothelioma has multiplied. During the last two decades however such incidence of mesothelioma has increased, but still it is not a common form of cancer. The statistics reveals that the incidence of mesothelioma is about one for every 1,00,000 people. But the incidence of mesothelioma of malignant type in industrialized zone is little higher. It is about 7 to 40 for every 100,000 people. The incidence of mesothelioma is reported higher in industrialized country. It is because; the workers of different industries are exposed to asbestos in one-way or the other. As we have discussed, asbestos are the main risk factor of causing mesothelioma. In recent years this disease of mesothelioma has appeared in multiple occasions in developed world. However, during the last quarter of last century, the use of asbestos has been banned in different developed countries, still the disease appears in USA and other European countries. It is because; the entries of asbestos long and short fibers do not immediately affect our lungs and heart. It takes twenty to fifty years to manifest its symptom.
In recent years, the health experts of developed word expect that by next decade the incidence of mesothelioma may increase fast. In the USA it has been estimated that the incidence of mesothelioma may be about 15 per every 100,000 people. Though in USA, in recent times the chance of exposure to asbestos has decreased to minimum, but those people who were exposed to such dangerous material decades earlier, may now affect by the mesothelioma. The people who were exposed to asbestos earlier, the chance of affecting by mesothelioma increased with the advancement of their age. This is the reason, the health experts of USA taking mesothelioma seriously and trying to find out ways and means to tackle this disease.
