In the very beginning you have to start with the physical examination, which must be done by the well qualified doctor. Thereafter you have to do chest X-ray and lungs functioning test. If necessary a CT scan or MRI must be done. If it is found that there is no malignant cell, the possibility of mesothelioma is not there. However, we cannot totally ignore the disease of mesothelioma, if malignant cell is not found in cytology. In that case you may require a biopsy. If mesothelioma is suspected in chest, you may need thoracoscopy. By this process the doctor will be able to see inside the chest of a patient and gets the tissue for test. If the disease is found in the abdominal area then another test is done. It is called laparscopy. This is done to get inside tissue so that test can be conducted if the patient is affected by mesothelioma.
